Timing Belt and Tundra
#2
FYI: The Tundra V8 is currently Toyota's only timing belt INTERFERENCE engine. The other Toyota interference engines have timing chains that drive the camshafts. I believe most Toyota engines are non-interference. If that belt breaks while you're tooling down the highway at 70 mph you're in a world of hurt.

There are advantages to belts. It results in a smoother valve train, cheaper to produce, quieter engine, less need to harmonic dampening and a few others I am sure.
