Don't know if the 4wd is any different than the 2wd, but it is really easy to do.
I did mine in my driveway (sloped at that) with basic hand tools and jack stands.
The only thing you need to do is keep track of the left and right side and have some Multipurpose grease for the splined ends.
I can do a writeup for you later this evening if you'd like.

WEll, I have a partial one right now on my website .
I'll add some additional info soon (how to remove).
Hope this helps...
Todd

Edit - I also did some modifications to my torsion bars during that process which you don't have to do.
I've got a 3.5" fabtech lift on the front which makes me have to torque the bars higher than stock.

As for differences, the one thing I do know is the 4wd bars are longer than the 2wd's.

I installed mine in the driveway, extremely easy to do. You only need some basic handtools and a jack. You may need some new adjusting bolts from Toyota because I heard they can break easily. I adjusting both of my 'Runners without breaking anything.

Just FYI, I also adjusted mine without damage (17 year old truck living in the midwest and northeast).
To be safe you can squirt it down with some PB blaster or the like before you start the removal.

No problem!
BTW zamboni, how much lift do you have on your truck?
I'll be doing 31"s I think, regearing to 4.88's when I do (auto trans).
What axle size do you have (7.5" or 8")?
Gears?
Not many people posting here with lifted 2wd's, I'd like to hear about your truck!

If you do have a 7.5" rear, I have a true trac LSD and some gears for you if you'd like.
I put in a 1 ton axle so I won't be needing it.

Oh, sorry for hijacking the thread doink

Re: for those of you with SAW torsion bars..

I am returning my truck back to stock (more-or-less) and have a set of 25mm SAW T-bars sitting in my garage if you're interested.

I can take digital pics of them this weekend.

With the exception of some rock chips in the paint, they are in great condition. $45 + shipping sound fair?

PIC ONE

PIC TWO

For the purpose of calculating shipping, the box is 3" x 2" x42". I don't know the weight. I will PM you my zipcode.
