Be sure and post that here, for some reason CT does not want to work for me.

Thorley vs Downey

Can someone post some pics of their Thorley header. I just got my Downey and I'm a little disapointed in the quality. I ordered the ceramic coating and I pictured it looking different than dull chrome.

One more thing. I asked about the EGR non EGR and it looks like I got some bad info because their is an EGR port on the top of the left side but my truck doesn't apear to have an EGR tube. Anyone with a 97 non California truck have the same issue?

From what I've seen, that's what ceramic looks like. Can't answer the question on the EGR.

Well if you can return those you might be able to still get in if you hurry...

I'm pretty sure you can still get in on it. Just add your name to the list over on CT.

From what I understand, an order of 50 sets went to the coaters. Which means there's around 17 extra.

You can probably get the group buy pricing. Dunno when Chris is going to close the deal.

Here is the thread for your convenience. Just register with customtacos and post your info on the thread: model, year, auto/manual, one or two cats, egr no egr. I'll add you to the list, (or you can copy and paste it yourself) once that information is posted.

Results and before & after Dynos posted for 2000 4runner STOCK. With headers and catback: Gain of 10 rwhp and 13 rwtq across the board... No loss of low end.

wow if you look at the graph those things are making roughly 10ft. lbs from 1500-4500 and that extra little power from the catback is above 4000 so not really an issure. these headers will increase your low end and midrange nicely.

i can't wait for them to get back to me. i gave them my info but i dont know how to make sure they got it since you just post up your info in the thread.

Yep. These headers significantly increases the area under both the HP and Torque curves. It's not just a spike up top. More power is had at ALL RPM's. Good stuff

he is supposed to be posting up the details to send them the $$$ for the headers anytime now. When he gets that up you will just follow that to order them.

ok cool. yeah i already posted my specs. Post #759.

These are completely bolt on right? Because when I eventually sell the truck I'd like to easily swap back and sell the headers to another enthusiast.

This test was done on my truck(4 runner) It is fast, way better then the deck plate. My 4runner has 123K mi, Mobil 1(5w30) in the motor and royal purple in the drive train, A 4" deck plate, stock Toyota(yes i buy all my parts from the dealer) Air and oil filter, Intake silencer removal using McCastar parts(down the street from my work), I meant too change the plugs before this but i did not. The truck is quick, it pulls 1st Hard and no hesitation on the shift to second. It sounds opened up. Any one on the cusp of buying them should do it they will be happy, if you live in LA and want to go for a spin PM me and we can work something out

There is one flange that has to be welded to the stock 1st catalytic converter if your truck has the CALI emissions 2 cat setup. If it doesn't have two cats then it's bolt on.

I'm pressing DT to make a cat delete pipe for the first cat that'll make this a bolt on solution.

That is what i want REAL bad as well. I don't live in cali so it should still pass without a problem since it doesn't need it anyways. plus it will make it bolt on. Except i thought there was one weld to the 2nd cat under the truck? or did i mis-read?

Can't be a weld to the 2nd cat, it's much further down the line and between stock piping on each end.

Oh? Well them i might have made a mistake on mine. I only have one cat under the truck but the other what looked to be a cat was behind the engine. I will go out and look again, i might have just saw wrong....

If you have two cats, the first one will be on the passenger side down pipe and it'll be obvious it's a cat. There'll be an O2 sensor in the pipe about 6" before the cat.

The second cat will be about mid way down the passenger side door and will have an O2 sensor AFTER it.

Here's a shot of mine from under the vehicle looking up through the passenger side of the engine bay. That big silver cannister on the right bottom of the pic is the FIRST cat.
