My grandpa has an 84 carbed 2wd pickup that I've been driving recently. It's a california car. The car has had problems passing smog and my grandpa told me that someone had told him that the problem could be the EACV. Unfortunetely the Haynes manual doesn't have a procedure for testing this or any of the other air pump equipment. I don't have smog test results or anything.

Another problem I'm having with the car is that when cold and especially going up hill it stumbles and bogs a lot in low rpms. Also, when warm, the car will stumble or die if gas is let off ubruptly when coming to a stop, usually when going uphill as well. Does anyone know what this can be?
