My temp guage needle reads a little more than half way between the C and H is this normal for a 3.0 4runner?is it running a little hotter than normal?

I am going through the same thing right now. I am going to change out the sending unit next week. I checke mine jumped the wire to ground and the guage read hot. Bad sending unit so says the book. Good luck Bryan

I never trusted mine--I tried changing the sender, but for the same price I got a Sunpro mechanical guage with metric adapters. Now I know almost exactly how hot the engine is.
