Dang, maybe I should start a service and offer to coat everyone's rims.....hehe

Their original color was a dark grey, similar to the rim posted. Kal-Guard was the company name but has since been reduced to KG..... I have never tried any of their other colors. They used to sell the coating in a spray can, I kinda of miss those. Could buy it at most motorcycles shops too.......

Man, a motorcycle would look really sweet with te frame coated like that. I actually wanna get one of the new line of A-R wheels, but can't remember the model number. I think the rims look sweet.

I think they look good. But think about the effects of teflon. If you have parrots/ birds you aren't supposed to use teflon in the house cause the offgassing from the pans will kill the birds. Read that in a parrot manual. Just thought it was wierd.

Couple of notes from someone old enough to remember...

There've been multiple generations of Teflon material over the last 40 years. It was the first generation which was problematical for easy scratching and toxic off-gassing. Neither of these issues were as bad once the second generation 'Teflon II' was introduced (late '60's?...). I remember hearing the bit about birds 'way back then. Don't think I've heard that mentioned in the last few decades, though...

In the '60's there was a militaristic right-wing group called the Minutemen, who published a sort of field manual on dirty tricks. One of these was putting a sliver of original Teflon in a cigarette. Once heated by the smoking, the sliver would off-gas enough toxic fumes to (allegedly) incapacitate or kill the smoker.

I agree - I think the Teflon Mojaves are the best 'industrial - look' rims out there... Unfortunately, my black Taco is a 2wd with 5-lugs... I wish there were a way to get AR to make Teflon Mojaves I could use - I'd buy 'em in an instant...

There's a member on here who has the black teflon coated Victor series of the AR wheels on his Tacoma. Can't remember his name. It is a black Taco double cab with a rack on the top. Look him up and ask him how his are holding up.

I just mounted a set of the AR teflon Victors on my 99 limited 4runner. they look sweet and are real easy to clean. We'll see how they hold up. I have been waiting months for AR to have them in my size. I will post pics ASAP. P.S. the wheels are not black, but anthracite.
