Taurus fan question

Hey,

For those of you that have done the taurus electric fan conversion, I have a question. Is the fan from a 1992 Lincoln Continental the same one? It looks identical to the taurus 3.8l fans everyone has used, but I wanted to check with some of you in the know before I buy it!

thanks for any help.

Chris

I believe it did have three wires on it, so it should be the 2-speed one then I guess?

I just wanted to get any opinions on it i.e. is the airflow the same etc. as the taurus model. I was not sure where else to check on it except here (where I get about 99% of my toyota info!).

Chances are it's prob. the same one I imagine that they sourced out for the tauruses.

Thanks,
Chris

I don't know for sure, but I'd bet it's the same. Try looking up part numbers on the internet and see if they're the same.

That is a great idea. Any sites you would suggest to look them up? I searched Google a couple times, but kept coming to the "submit a part request and we'll get back to you" BS on most sites.

thanks.

Not sure if they are the same or not. Might be the same 2 speed motor, but could have a different shape fan shroud??

Does that Lincoln have a 3.8L V6? They are the same exact fan, as I got my spare fan from a Lincoln MK VII with a 3.8~ Get it, you wont regret it.

Thanks for all the info. I went ahead and got it for 26.00. It is the 3-wire model for sure and is the same physical layout/shroud as the pictures everyone has posted for the taurus 3.8l fan.

Now I have to figure out what to buy to get it put in and working.

Thanks everyone.

haha, it didn't register in my mind that "lincoln continental" is the lincoln 3.8L V6...
