Tach signal at ecu?

Tach signal at ecu?
Hey,
I am looking for a tach signal at the ecu behind the glove box in my 1998 4runner, does one exist? I need to grab a tach signal for remote start and for logging with my supercharger install and id rather not run a wire to the diag port.
Thanks!

Actually, there is no true tach signal at the ECU. The ECU takes the signals from the cam and crank sensors (and other inputs) to generate the three coil trigger signals it sends to the igniter. If those would work, at the ECU, they are the black/blue, brown/yellow, and black/white wires on Pins 24, 18 and 15, respectively, on Plug E9, which is a white 34-pin 4-row plug.(This is for '98 only.) The actual tach signal is then produced at the igniter, and sent to the tachometer on a solid black wire.
This on the V6. 4-cyl is different. I have that, too. I'm assuming you're not putting a S/C on a 4-cyl.
