I have been doing lots of searching and have come up with a couple questions about running A/T or M/T(maximum traction).

I am going to run 315/75R16--I would like to see at least 25k miles--(2 years). I will wheel it pretty hard 25x per year in sand/river pebbels, boulders, rivers, mountain rock. I used to run revos and really liked them but they only go up to a 33. A gurantee is of no importance becuase they are void in Mexico. It is hot here and I know heat is a downer on tread life...... I also drive about 20 miles round trip six days a week. Here are the tires I am checking out:

After reading this do you guys have a favorite to recomend? I realize I'm comparing apples vs. oranges Road noise is of no concern and if I wanted a smooth ride I would have got a pilot.

A lot depends on what you are driving on:
Pavement: MT - Good, AT: Better
Rocks: AT - Good, MT - Better
Sand: AT - Good, MT - Bad
Ice: AT - Good, MT - Bad
Shallow snow (<1'): AT - Good, MT - Better
Deep snow (>1'): AT - Good, MT - Bad
Mud: MT - Very good, AT - Bad

Of course I don't imagine you see much snow and ice in Mazatlan There are also variables such as design, tread composition, size, etc that can alter my very general observances.

 

Based on where you live and the size you want, from everything i have heard from friends and owners, go with the Yoko's
