Switched to mirrored bulbs yet?

I recently got some mirroned amber bulbs beacause I didn't like how the bulbs made my clear lenses look amber in the dayteme. Turns out they are sweet! I have had them for 2 months now and they still look flawless. I would recomend them to everybody for your bumper lights.

These are off ebay and they cost like $13 a pair with shiping. Day or night they look the same as the stock ones when they are turned on but I will try to get a good night picture for you guys. As far as there legality, the package said to check local state laws so I guss they are kindof in the gray zone.

I have the APC titan bulbs like those. I got them from sounddomain.com. Work great with the clear tails.

Looks a lot better...yes they are DOT approved and legal for use "on road"...like it was said, they're chrome when off, but light like a normal light when on...when they're on, you wouldn't even know they were chromed. I had these on my GTP when I got clear corners for it...it made 100% difference...nice job

OK, I will try to get one tonight but no promises. I have a ton of mid-terms to take care of.

Why do you need a night shot? They light up just like your amber bulbs.
I am not trying to flame but just turn on your blinker and that is what it will look like.

Yea, I'm with you there but I was unsure too untill I saw them with my own eyes.

I've heard they're not as bright as the OEM ones. Anyone know definitively if that is the case?

The bulbs are legal, the tail lights are not.

pretty cool little mod, it isn't a big enough issue for me since they are only colored from directly behind. I'm more worried about my darn tail/brake lights. What areyou guys doing?

Those are pretty sweet...I might needa get those for my clear front lenses. Also, what kinda tail lights are those? I've been wanting to get some...I'm more interested in the black ones, that are all black except for the red and amber deflectors inside...you know where I could get those from??

Thanks man,

Fink

Actually, the bulbs I got ane xenon and claimed they were 50% brighter than OEM but in reality I would say they are exactly the same or mabe just a bit brighter. By any means, brightness isn't a problem. As far as the clear tailights go, you can't get um any more but mine were from ebay. Acording to the OR state police, as long as you have red bulbs in clear tailights they are leagal but the local police said they were ileagal because the reflectors are white rather than red. I've had them for a year now and havn't had any problems.

I had LED break lights but they were flat out dangerous in the daytime because the only showe up from directly behind (and only in two spots the size of quarters) so I switched to some high quality xenon red bulbs. I use only xenon bulbs now because I have found they keep thier color (they don't get as hot so the color doesn't burn). I don't remember what brad they were, the package was all Japanese but they were $10 each.

As requested here are some night pictures. One is with the flash so you can see the color difernce between the right and left side while the left side is on. The bumper light is shown as a comparison to the standard amber bulb since I have yet to change those out (will have bulbs soon though). Anyway, as you can see from the pictures, there is no diference in color or brightness between the mirrored and the standard bulbls:

Mirrored bulb:

Regular bulb:

I know the night pictures arn't the greatest but I think they illistrate that the mirrored bulbs look the same as the stock ones when lit.

Ok, finally got the new bumper lights in. Really hapy with how it looks now and this will give you an idea of what it will look like on say a 3rd gen 4runner with the stock clear lenses and amber bulbs.

Good timing (for me anyway) with those pics... I just bought a pair of chrome ambers on the wonderful eBay yesterday, and glad to see they will make my new front clear lights look right. The normal amber bulbs ruin the whole effect of the clear lenses. Nice reflection of yourself as well.
