Me Likey....Yeah for Firemen!
Here is my new Budbuilt skid. I am letting it get a little "finish" to it before POR-15 in the spring. Sliders are going on as soon as my friend and I can coordinate the same day off.

i know im probably gonna get flamed but.... here is my daily 2000 runner. 2.7ltr magazine featured show truck that will shortly be transformed with a SAS and a 4wd conversion. why? cuz it only has 26k miles and waaaaay to much money into it. motors not even broken in yet and im over the lowrider thing so mite as well turn it into what i want.

from the extreme opposite. sounds like you have a bit of money to spend, i would buy another runner with good body and alright engine and put your engine out of the ghetto fab one into the new one. then put the new crap engine in your lowrider and sell it...let it die the way you made it, someone out there probably appreciates it

I am not saying ifs isn't capable, it is, but you need armor if you dont wanna totally fubar your truck up. lockers and crawler in an ifs is a very well set up rig. And it also depends on your wheeling environment, out east here in TN its trails and rocks, you have some mud but I and the people I wheel with stay out of it. Now if your talking sand, ifs ftw

I have a few friends that drive jeeps, i can pretty much whip any of them when off-roading. I have yet to get REAL stuck ever but i have pulled them out numorus times.
Not talking about an SAS swapped 4runner, obiously that is going to be better. But seeing as he will not do any off-roading, there is no reason for him to waste his $$$$ on an SAS IMO.

I totally agree with you, doesn't need a swap at all, not even close. if he wants high drop bracket, convert to 4wd. All ya need. If its not even bad beachers, throw in a rear locker and call it done.

still the "dark side" still a show truck, this is an off road oriented toyota board, all show and no go is still the "dark side"

i think its a good little engine, points i'd like some more power, but heck when i first got it i got 23mpg and i could handle the slow. just have to have gearing with it.

if i could sell it and start with a 4wd i would... lord knows it would prolly save me some headaches!
but ive had it for sale for a while with no "ligit" offers so im just gonna work with what i got. and im not super worried bout the paint. if it gets scratched up then i will repaint it. its just a truck. anything that breaks can be fixed!
