Is the install on the Surco easy? My Yakima can be removed and re-installed in under 15 minutes and most of that is screwing the plastic "nuts" down on the very long bolts but it fits the stock roof rack like a factory piece.

Surco's have 8 screws which mount to the channels up on top. Its pretty easy to remove. Course, Im much too lazy for that, and leave it up there.

If I ever got a Colman rack, I'd have to get the extension...without it, the rack just looks too small.

If the Yak and the Coleman are the same exact size and shape, the accessories for the Yak should fit the Coleman correct?

yes, if they are the same dimensions someone mentioned before then they should be able to swap out parts from one another.

If the Yak attachments do fit, then the Coleman rack is not a bad idea.

I'd been looking at racks but I didn't want to shell out all the money for one. From the price of the Coleman one this upgrade just move up on my list and probably getting the extension

I highly reccomend the Yak! I've had the Yak rack for about two years and have not been dissapointed. I've loaded 8 bundles of firewood up there and been on 800+ mile road trips without any issues. Here are some pics

Sloan, I know you purchased a Coleman, but I couldn't resist . Here's a few more pics of a Yak mounted:

To my knowledge, no one has stepped up to be a guinea pig and purchase some yak accessories to see how they fit on the coleman. Wish someone would though...

I'll probably be getting the coleman rack in the next couple months and I'll see if accessories will fit or not. The racks have the same exact dimensions so I dont see why not. Unless there are mounts on the yak rack that wont be on the coleman one.

Does anyone know if Coleman is still producing this rack? If so, where might I be able to find one? I've looked at costo.com already. Any ideas???

Thanks
