maybe just the wiring is in a different order, i have no idea, i didnt bother trying to figure it out.

something to keep in mind...
The wiring is different.

The MAF in 96-98s are quite different from those in 99-02s.
Marks mod will be plug and play for 96-98s only (you'd need to rewire for use in later models).

Hey Mark,
Have you been watching your MPG? I imagine its bad now bcuz power can be intoxicating. I'd be interested to know how things are when you get through a few tanks of driving normally. This mod sounds so tempting right now.

Hey Richard!

Yeah, but I also just replaced the tranny and put in a high-rev torque converter which dropped my mileage by about 2mpg. I just filled up yesterday... 13mpg. Before the TC I was "adjusted" to being okay with the high 15's. ugh.

Now, I had recently done a Seafoam hit, so I figure I need to replace my plugs, and my A/FR meter is being weird so it may be O2 time as well. I'm not convinced that the TC cost me 2mpg, but it _seems_ to have.

I haven't been through a full tank with the new MAF yet. I'm sure it won't be pretty.

Yeah... I'm paying the price ($3.19/gal yesterday). "Only" a 35 mile commute/day, so it could be worse.

I have my first trail ride in about a year on Sunday - it'll be interesting to see what 6mpg feels like. ARGH.

I havent picked one up yet to find out.

But I figure I might need to upgrade my injectors, since everyone that has done this upgrade had to get bigger injectors you would probably need to do the same to a N/A motor, just a step above stock, not the huge injectors SC guys are running.

Alright, heres a NooB Q: If I was to upgrade to the 305cc Toyota Supra injectors, do they always flow 305cc or UP to 305cc for when that much volume of fuel is needed?

I would think that if they were always flowing 305cc, it would kill my gas milage and would be total overkill. But if they flow up to 305cc, it couldnt hurt to put them in there when I try the Supra MAF?

Thanks

The 305cc refers to the fact that when locked fully open (ie 100% duty cycle) they will flow 305cc of fuel per minute. I honestly don't think you will see any significant gains worthy of an injector upgrade (or the money you'll spend on them).

Somebody has told you that you will NEED to have some sort of ECU managment to use the Supra MAF right? There is a good write up on why over at TTORA let me see if I can find it real quick.... This isn't the exact one I was thinking of, but should be enough: http://www.tacomaterritory.com/forum...15&postcount=4

Yes, you would need a ECU upgrade. As the ECU cant control the injectors properly or something.

Alot of people run the SMT, so thats what I would get.

eheheh you finally got it!

I have been using the supra maf for 3 years now

I had a old dyno which proved a 10whp peak through the whole entire band in gains...i am going nuts searching for the dynos!

The stock maf with the s/c is at 96% capacity with the stock pulley, with the supra maf i recorded at full throttle and 9.5psi to be 85% full (smt6 )

I cant believe i almost put on 100,000km on the supercharger/smt6 setup truly awesome (altho my s/c nose drive needs to be rebuilt soon)

hahaha

I wonder if there would be an improvment?

If things go my way here (in shop dyno) i will have plug and play solutions for the smt6 and 7 both pretuned.

if i do get this dyno, definatly come on up and we can tune your truck for as long as it takes. See what differences we can get with our setups.
