Summer Project .:Back up sensors on runner:.

So Ive been noticing several new trucks having back up sensors and I was wondering if anyone has installed these sensors on a bumper yet. I had this ideal & with summer coming around I need a new project or 2. So i wanna get a back up system on my runner and maybe install some leds under the rear view mirrors.. but for now the back up sys is my main focus, I dont think it would be to hard.. maybe scrap some sensors from a junk yard or something.

Any ideals guys or anyone done this yet??

By back up sensors I think you mean the beeping alert that gets quicker as you get closer and closer to an object?

I'd encourage you to simply consider a cheapie rear camera instead. That way you'll have a true visual of what is going on behind you.

just my 2cents-perhaps I am misunderstanding the thread.

Backup sensors will tell you 6ft, 4ft, 2ft. Useless for backing up really close to something or parallel parking. It does not resolve inches of distance.
