Stuck Brake Line

Stuck Brake Line
Hey everyone
This morning I attempted to pull my rear axle out so I could check and clean/replace my axle seal. I got the four bolts off the backing plate no problem, but I am having a hard time getting the brake line disconnected.
It is starting to round off and I don't want to destroy it. Any tips?
Thanks!

You need to use a line wrench AKA flare nut wrench...Looks like this:

The other tip is once you get a line wrench on it..even if you have to gently hammer it on the nut, also hammering on a line wrench will help to straighten out the nut flat sides.....Then jerk(shock) the wrench ..If you go slow it will continue to round if the nut is really rounded.

Just use some vice grips, and go get a new line from Toyota. You live in MA, where they salt the heck out of the roads. Chances are, its rusted in goot with in intention of coming loose.

What worked for me (after rounding it off) was to use the next smaller size line wrench and file the 6 sides of the hex nut down until the wrench fit tight. I didn't have any rust issues though.
