So I just got my first 4runner 99 with 128 miles on it the guy befor me replace the radiator and thermostat it doesn' shift hard but when I got home I let it cool off an pulled the radiator cap a the water was low so I put water in just to get me by for the day till I could get antifreeze an when I pulled the cap off it was a little pinkish red all most like rust colored

 

No panics yet: Toyota coolant is red, newer Toyotas have pink coolant which some people use in place of the red. There's also aftermarket Japanese coolant but I've never used it so don't know what color it is.

Did the person you bought the car from replaced the radiator because of pink milkshake or as maintenance/preventative measure?
