Strange issue in my 99
Hi all,
Yesterday my gf said she was cold in the car, when I actually had the heat cranked all the way up.
Sure enough, I reached to her side, and the pass. side vent to the right of the pass. airbag was blowing air that was noticeably cooler.
What could be causing that?
Leak in the ducts? Surely it's not because it's further from the center vents or some other stupid reason like that, I don't even know what's the routing of the duct like behind the dash.
Thanks in advance.

my mom's 93 lexus had a similiar problem. it turned out to be a faulty valve from the heater coil. but her problem was that there was no hot air from ALL the vents.

i think i finally have an answer. I got into an accident back in 2001 and ever since then i havent had great heat. Well last night WT and I threw on my guages and saw that there was a black plastic pipe that was disconnected. if you look at it...its no wonder why something would easily break it off. anyways, just take apart your dash and look under there. we just connected it back up and it was great. hpoe this helps

guys,
the black ducts that, from left to right, are composed of the movable vents that go downwards to a 90 deg elbow. that goes straight across to the center vents to the "main" ducts...and that goes across over to the passenger vent.
here's a pic of the passenger vent to give you guys an idea:
the one on the driver's side is a different shape and has the vent that points towards your feet. other than that, they serve the same function to connect the source of the air (coming from the center main ducts) to the driver's side and passenger side vents
edit: oh crap, its you, hugo! i havent seen you online in quite awhile! hope you are doing well
i would have to say that that main duct in the pic above is probably not attached correctly. see my writeup on the tacoma whip mod that will show you how to remove everything.

Yeah as Bob said the these things snap apart pretty easy and you just have to push them back together and bet it fix up the problem.
