Steering problems

On my 85 the front wheels have a shiney ring around them where they rub the tie rod end. I was thinkin' about trying some 1/4" wheel spacers to see if that helps. The steering is horrible, driving straight down the road it will go str8 for a minute then just wander to the side. This is my first vehicle with manual steering and was wondering if thier all this hard to drive. Even at speed curves are a two handed fight. Steering has a lil play but doesnt seem to loose. I know the 32"s dont help but their soon to be replaced with some 31x10.5 tsl's. Any ideas? I've about decided to just buy a complete power set-up off another truck. Why anyone would buy a truck with A/C and not power steering is beyond me

its a 4x4 with ac and no ps... wierd.... have you checked the fluid level in the steering box? also... i hate the 1/4" wheel spacers, they are nothing but garbage... i have seen some eat through the studs and have seen the wheel actually come off

I too have seen problems with spacers, but I ran 1/4" spacer on my 85 for well over 100k and never had a problem.
