A clicking sound usally refers to a low voltage condition. I agree with Noliwan. Clean all terminals. However, it doesn't matter if you're jumping a 4cyl to a 6cyl vehical...a 12 volt system is a 12 volt system. It does matter the size cables you use to jump start it though. If the cables are too small, they want carry the voltage nessecary to start the vehical unless you leave the on for a long time to allow the dead battery to charge. It also helps to rev the jumper car so there will be greater output. All this is useless however if you connections are dirty or corroded. A corroded connection will result failed starts and failed charging.

Have the battery load tested (can be done at most auto parts stores). I suggest to replace it with an Optima or OEM Toyota if it is indeed gone. Also check the voltage with a digital multi meter and make sure you are getting over 14+ V (may be in the 13V range if the battery is very depleated).
