Special Thanks to Steve Schaefer.....Sonoran Steel

I ran into a rough ride issue with my 96 4Runner not too long ago and after reading this forum for a couple hours I decided to try and contact Steve from Sonoran Steel. I had the YOYTEC 3 lift in my truck with Tokico Trekmaster green shocks. When I put this setup in my truck originally it rode fine. I do most of my driving on road, sorry guys....not much 4Wheelin here in North Jersey. After contacting Steve, he immediately knew what my issue was. The truck would ride horrible on the smallest of bumps and that was just on the streets so what he told me is that the spacers were my problem. The shocks were hyper-extended and were causing a rough ride. After about 15-20 e-mails back and forth, I purchased basically the complete front and rear Sonoran Steel lift kit minus the OME rear springs that came with my TOYTEC kit. So with the TRD front springs, Bilstein front and rear shocks and custom rear bump stops all from Sonoran Steel I was off to see if it was gonna work. Well, Steve is the man!!! I drove the truck home from my garage tonight and hit every pothole and bump I can find and it rode amazing. I just want to thank Steve again personally and publicly for all his help. For those contimplating whether or not to use his lift kit because of the higher price.......the reason why it is cause IT WORKS!!!!

Steve is great, he's always answered any of my questions and when I'm ready and can afford it I'm going with his 1.2. Super nice guy and highly knowledgable from what I've experienced.

I searched for months trying to find the cheapest way to do a lift while staying away from spacers.
I finally settled on Swayaway 2.5" coilovers on the front, Sonoran Steel system 7.2 for the rear and the tapered diff drop he sells as well.
Ordered my coilovers and lt285/75r16 nitto terragrapplers last night. I'll have to wait until monday to order the sonoran steel stuff as he was closed and no online ordering system.
How long did it take you to get you're system 7.2? I'm dieing in anticipation.

He had just about everything in stock, I think he just needed the stock top plates cause I wanted just to swap everything at one time.

Driving the truck today, this time with my fiance......she noticed the difference right away and that made me happy too. Gotta keep the woman happy ya know fellas!!!

i'm saving my pennies to upgrade to the bilsteins so i can get rid of my spacers. i'm wondering if that is my problem as well, sounds similar. when the wallet recovers a bit i think i'll give steve another call and see what we can do. X100 about steve, his products, and his service!
