speaker box questions ?

Well I went wheeling yesterday and found out why it is so important to fasen down your speaker boxes . any way I was wondering if it is ok to put screws into the speaker box ? I want to just screw some little brackets on there so I can put a rachet strap on them , or some sort of tie down . I dont want to scre it to the floor because I sleep in the back when I go camping and dont want to unscrew them every time . also I was wanting to mount my amp on the box too, if that is ok .thanx

No need to screw it to the floor.
I have both my cargobox and huge sub strapped to the stock D rings on the floor of my '91.

To see where I put my amps, look on my stereo page in my sig file.

mount the amp to the back or top of the box since you sleep in the back -- i would mount like corey if you dont lay the seats down and sleep. as for you idea on mounting the brackes go for it!! i was gonna use little tie down strap holders (they have them on mastercraft boat trailers to tie down the cover while on the trailer) but for permant mount i would stick a mounting plate under the box mounted to the floor and then bolt thru bottom of box -- only problem is that you have to takeout the speaker evertime it needs to be removed.

here is somthing you could use for you idea -- if you use bolts instead of screws -- you dont want air coming from these holes so make them tight and maybe some silicon -- i would probally just drill the hole small and hammer the U bolts in

post pics when you finish!!
