Removed the spark plugs out due to floodeing and no starting. Found the gap at .50 instead of .30 what damage will this cause. Will this be part of the cause of my horrible gas mileage?

it could.. that gap is almost 2x the gap it should have... however having a big gap may not allow a psark to ignite, cuasing basically loss of that cylinder, expecially ifyour ign sys has problems.....

All six were at least .50 or more.

won't cause damage. isn't good for power though, because as jim said, you might not be igniting the fuel charge.

if you have something like an msd, mallory or other aftermarket ignition, you can open your gap to about that level. won't really be any improvement on EFI but on a carbed truck it'll burn the fuel charge better, especially going up steep hills when they tend to flood.

My mileage was down around 10 or 11 mpg. So far it's waaaaaay better.
