Sound like another blown head gasket?

Last time my truck had 6 symptoms when i had a blown (partially blown) head gasket.
1. sweet smell from the exhaust when cold
2. exhaust puts out a lot of water when cold
3. rough idling when cold
4. banging sound coming from the exhaust when im revving it and then i drop the rev.
5. white smoke when cold
6. drop in gas milage

well i had that repaired for 2600 bucks at the dealer about 6 months ago. well now that im back from Pismo Beach II, it has symptoms number 1, 2 and 4. it doesnt idle rough at all at any time, and the smoke doesnt seem white like last time, but also, last time it was winter time so that caused it to be very white. there is a slight greyish cloud this time though. i also havent noticed a change in my gas milage, although i havent driven enough since i got back from pismo

so, my yotatech techies, what do you think? should i take it to a dealer and have them look at it? should i be charged for them to look at it? or should i not worry and wait for rough idling?

Take it back & tell them what they did then tell them what your rigs doing. They cant charge you if its faulty parts they installed or poor techsmanship. What a nightmare to have to deal with. Sorry man, hope things get better.

hey man, I know what you are going through. If you look a bit lower on the threads, you'll see mine. I pretty much have the same symptoms you do. I'm just wondering if you notice any coolant missing when you open the radiator (cold). What I notice is when I rev the engine, hot or cold, it sounds like my air intake is making a thuding or muffled girgling noise. I'm gonna pull the plugs to see if there is any anti-freeze on them. Take it back with the recipt, complain, and have them fix it right. I fixed mine myself, so I have no one to complain to. Hope you get things fixed. When you do, please post back so I can get some knowledge on how to go about my rig.

thanks, Derrick

That sucks Jason. Check the coolant for oil and the oil cap for a milky residue. The dealer should be able to do a block test to verify a HG leak. I believe a block test analyzes the coolant for combustion byproducts.

Pismo shouldn't have had anything to do with the HG unless it overheated. It sounds like shoddy workmanship to me, maybe they didn't torque the bolts right or something.
