Kevin ya I am tied up for the next few weekends but after Turkey day I should be good to go. Have you found any good spots out by Mt Spokane anywhere to go wheeling? You'll have to follow me home one weekend and we can do some serious wheeling up there. It takes just under 4 hours from my house.

I wish I could say I know all the good spots, but I don't. I've had a lot of fun at the Riverside Off-Road Vehicle area and out by Moses lake, but haven't had a chance to explore much around Mt Spokane. I did take one trip to Sullivan lake last summer and saw a lot of areas that looked like prime candidates for exploring, but didn't have a chance to check them out.

I'll have to ask around. A couple of guys I work with spend a lot of time out in that area. They're usually, hiking, fishing, hunting, and mountain biking, rather than 4x4ing, but maybe they'll know some spots.

$100K for a house!?!? Damn, that definitely puts things in perspective. Here in LA, a $100K house is in the worst of the worst neighborhoods. Even for a decent 1,200 sq ft townhouse in a middle-middle class income neighborhood, you're gonna pay about $225,000 to $250,000.

Buying a house is a smart investment. In fact, the government encourages home buying b/c statistics show that home buyers are more economically stable and contribute that stableness back into the economy.

Plus, SUMMER BARBEQUES ROCK!

Tod made an excellent choice in building a three car garage. So many options in having that much utility space. In winter he can even use the three car garage as a covered out door play area for the kids. Good move!

If i could say for sure i was going to be there for a while... the real estate market is just too hot around here... even fixer uppers ( what i'm looking for) cost a fortune and with my flying career just getting started who knows where i'll have to go to find work... avg. home price in LA county is $325,000. I honestly don't think you could buy a house for under $200K in LA county, no matter what the neighborhood. If you could it would be the size of the outhouse on Toddski's picture!

A "decent" 2 bdrm home is at least $300K Anything like the other homes pictured from LSUMatt or Toddski is $700-1.5m easy.

I wonder how a young couple could afford to live in L.A. county if their goal included becoming home owners? A decent detached home in West L.A. is well over $600k, and that will only get you a two bedroom. Your only choices are far out areas in Santa Barbara or Orange county or considering a move to the Valley(which I did years ago) if your plans are to live in sunny southern California. San Deigo property estimates will soon reach Los Angeles proportions. Basicly if you want to live in southern L.A. in a detached house or townhouse ,you better invest soon! But the beaches and weather is so great out there its worth the cost if you got the cash.
