SMT6 Users...remove your maf "Upgrade" soon
Hey all,
Would just like to start a mini discussion on removing the stock MAF. This is something i have been looking at doing using the SMT6 as most people already have it and rather not change to a smt7.
This is an IN development thing that I have been planning for a while now with a buddy that has lots of electrical experience.
Basically what this will do is provide the SMT6 with MAF like readings but coming from a MAP sensor (and external TEMP sensor as well), this way people who don't have the supra maf can still have the added benefits of having less intake restriction.
With this little upgrade I will also include the needed info to allow your SMT6 to trip your ecu into open loop even those WITH autos can do this (vs before you had to trick the ecu into thinking your at WOT which would cause problems in the shifting pattern for the tranny)
This is kind of a sideline project as i have my current MR2 project in the works still.
So i figure ill just open this up to suggestions and opinions!
Off to work!!! Damn 3vz-e!
