Slider Installation Price

I live in Northern VA. I spoke with Iron Pig Offroad today about having a set of sliders welded on to my 01 4runner. They quoted me $340 (4 hours labor)for the installation regardless of whether I buy the sliders from them. Is this too expensive??? It seems a little high to me. Anyone know of some other shops within 50 - 60 miles of D.C. that I could / should get a quote from?

I would maybe get a couple more estimates. When I was going to have mine done, I got quotes from $200-$350. So I guess that price is within that price range.

The price kinda depends on how much needs to be done to the sliders. If the sliders are already assembled (legs are cut and welded on to the bar, and the plates mounted as well), then it's relatively easy...all you need to do is weld the plate to the frame of your truck. But if none of the work is done already, it can take quite a bit of time. I lucked out and had a friend who welds help me out. We had to go through the whole process of cutting and welding up the legs and everything else. It took about 4 hours. So the time estimate you got is accurate. But still, it never hurts to shop around. Or better yet, see if anyone around on this board lives near you and is really generous with their time!

Too high for installation (welding) only. Prep them yourself and it should be under an hour to weld them on. Where are you in N.Va? I know some welders there.

It really depends on how much is involved as to the amount of labor. My DIY sliders I charge 3 hours labor to install, but that involves doing all the prep work and welding.

$150

Welcome to YotaTech.

Give Curtis a call at 4x4 Connection over in Winchester, VA. He welded my Badland Sliders on a number of years ago and I don't recall it costing that much.

Also, give Bobby a call at High Tech Auto and Truck in Chantilly, they do custom welding.

Both shops have worked on my 4Runner and have always done great work for me.
