i am really anxious to see what the square/round tube combo looks like, i love the look of the slee sliders but can't justify the cost of them.

Justin,
Can you direct me to a web site for those, and also what kind of price are they charging?

a board memeber here, darren, has the newest rendition of these sliders. they are very nice but ultra expensive, that is probably why they have only done 3 sets. (i think)

Those look very nice. They are expensive however I couldn't afford them. The design he (dan) sent me look very much like those, and I charged him $200 becuase he really wanted to be in on the group buy , and I figured although his set will take alot more time (first one of anything always does since you are planning & mapping it out) I will atleast after that have a blueprint to make anymore. I will say this the square tubing used in Slees , and mine is quite a bit more expensive than the round , BUT I bet I can do them for my regular price.
Thanks for the link & information,
Richard

Hey Richard,
I'm going camping this weekend and will probably take some action shots with the sliders on. I'll send them to you to put on your site when I get back.

Everyone have a great Memorial Day weekend.

I am sitting outside waiting on the UPS guy... I cannot wait for my sliders.

Who in AZ should weld them on?

Also - as for the SLEE design, it is nice. His are designed to be removable. He uses (3) class 3 trailor hitches on each side, mounted to the frame. Then the sliders "slide" in and are bolted with 6 grade 8 bolts on each side.

I see no reason for this, because with the sliders off, and the mounts still there (welded on) you cannot put the stock running boards on.

Also, the weight of this must be 3-4x as much. I also assume that as they get beat up they would bend slightly, causing a major pain in the rear to remove them and put them back on.

I think Richard's sliders will be some of the best I have seen. I really like the look of the square tube mixed with the round tubes. I looks a little more (go ahead, laugh) elegant. I drive a limited guys, plus it is a web-wheeler.

Dan

Well this weekend was fairly productive! Several sets are going out UPS today! I should have the bulk of the order done here soon..........heres a picture of some of the sliders you can see off to the right three sets ready for the welding table.
Hope you all had a great weekend.
Richard
PS-emails with UPS tracking numbers will go out to those whose sliders are going out today.

Thank you Richard!

I'll have to wait until NEXT Friday to get them put on though. Between the welding shop not having an opening and me traveling, next Friday is the earliest...

But, I'll also get a new cat-back system then!

WAHOO!

I'm sucha poser! Someone help me de-pose!

Honestly, I don't know. I'm having the guy do rotors, buying a new catback system from him and getting these put on. We haven't talked price for any of it. I also got a couple of pieces of 3" aluminum pipe to clean up my ISR mod and to do one on a friend's '99.

He's a local Muffler/Brake guy that's been working on cars for eons and I trust him. He gets all of the work that I can't do myself and I've always thought he struck a fair deal. So, I won't know until I go pick it up the evening of the 6th.

I'll be sure to post back when I do know, but frankly, it probably won't show up on the bill. I think most people had said that they've been charged about $50 for the various flavors of sliders that have been around.

Actually Slee's original slider design (the ones Jaderunner from ODW has) was the one that could be removed. The new design is one piece. The Slee Offroad site has pictures of Darren's 4Runner and you can see they are one piece from the slider to the frame.

Just wanted to clarify. I have the Maniac Metal Works sliders on my 4Runner.

I am happy to say that we will be all done with the group buy sliders tomorrow afternoon! I just wanted to show you guys Dans custom set which we will make again since I like them too (only difference will be a diamond plate end cap not smooth like Dan requested-take too much time!)
Thanks again everyone , and I hope you are all very satisfied.
Richard Stubbs

PS- If anyone is in the sticker making business shoot me an email- I have some work for you.
