sweet man...one day i keep telling myself mine will be like that...how's your experience with the warn hubs been, i heard from a couple people that they weren't as strong as the aisin hubs.

 

For turning 32's or 33's I dont think it will make a difference what kinda hubs you have. Warn and asian hubs are both good.

 

No problems yet, but I do carry my old ADD (live) hubs and all the little cone washers for back-ups. They are the "premium" Warn hubs with a lifetime warranty for what that's worth.

I didn't mean to make them sound so attractive, if I had it to do over again I'd look for a used set of asian hubs and rebuild them. At the time I didn't know how cheap they could be bought used. New asians would blow out the budget.

I was hoping you weren't doing all that top end work on a bottom end with 400,000 miles. That's a lot of miles. So it was rebuild already huh, that's good.

 

I'm not sure if thats what I'd get its just hearing that since you've had good experiences with them then that opens my range to a couple diff types of hubs rather then just the aisin ones...im sure they'll be used and I'll probably end up getting whichever i can find cheaper

 

Good lookin rebuild! Just make sure you change that f'n $11.00 Knock Sensor wire while you have it apart!

I dunno exactly but I think its somewhere in the neighborhood of $180...Once again got essentially nothing done today...got the last 2 pistons cleaned, and got the drivers axle out (5 hours of work ) and got the new one in the hub but not on the diff yet...what a PITA anyone have any advice on how to get the damn things on to the studs on the diff? Here's where I am now:

I get my injectors back tomorrow along with the flow info, i get my heads back wednesday $425 for the valves installed heads ported and polished and intake manifold and plenum ported polished and cleaned. Taking off my calipers tomorrow and cleaning the mud and rust off them then painting them silver (will post pics) Thanks guys

 

Press the bolts out. I used a small c-clamp and appropriate size socket as a "ghetto" press. Once you get all the bolts out, grind the splines off. This will make axles/CV boots a piece of cake to change out when the time comes.

 

K I'll try that out, I was trying to figure out how to get them out without screwin somethin up

 

Didn't get the bolts pressed out, but figured out a diff way...I unbolted the lower ball joint then pried down the lower control arm and pulled the brake rotor out as I slid the axle onto the studs...wow took me all of 10 minutes once I figured that out after 4 hours of fighting with it got the drivers side done and the passenger side out...tomorrow I'll be putting the passenger side in and getting my heads back from the machine shop and starting to reassemble the motor will post more pics when theres somethin to take pics of...

 

***Forgot to mention i got my injectors back today...2 of them failed the leak test and spray pattern test before cleaning, the other 4 were fair...and they flowed anywhere from 40-45 ml...after cleaning all passed and had good spray patterns and flowed 46 ml across the board...the guy said that he hadn't seen injectors that were in worse shape they had to replace every seal, the piquet cones or somethin like that, the end caps, the electrical contacts...pretty much everything. Ended up having to pay $160...the guy ended up quoting me the wrong price so it was $25 a piece rather then $13

Did your injectors go 400,000 miles without cleaning? If so, I bet that was some of the worst he's seen.

 

I think he has a remanufactured engine, somewhere around 80-100k miles on it.

 

I will be getting my injectors back from Cruizin Performance on wednesday coming up.

I had 258,000 and my injectors were in EXCELLENT condition - the least flowing one did 97mL on the 100mL static flow test. All improved or stayed the same post cleaning, and when I asked him about it he said that was common for the 3vze injectors to be in excellent condition!

I was happy that 3 of my 6 injectors were at 100mL at the same time and the other three were at 99mL each post cleaning!
