Shortening LC coils

Alright well when i did my lift awhile back, i ended up with the LC coils from the wrong year and they have to many wraps. At first i was alright with the rake that it gave me. Now after a few months i have gotten tired of it. I think i remember reading something about someone cutting off a wrap from the longer coils. I cant find anything now but what would it hurt if i was to just cut off a wrap from the coils?? Could there be any negatives to this if i was to cut it at exactly one wrap less??

I've always *heard* it was a bad idea to cut any coils. But, I've never done it, nor seen anyone who's had problems or whatever.... I don't see how it would be that bad, but, if I were you, Id just start looking for some other ones and sell your current ones?

You can't cut progressive rate springs. I don't know if they are or not, but if they are, don't cut them.

Would putting a torch to them shorten them? Just an idea...

Saw it on Monster Garage a few years ago haha probably not the best solution.
