Shocks question

It's time to replace the front shocks on my truck... I put in by BJ spacers and my current shocks barely reached with the LCA on the bumpstop and they're supposed to be 2" lift shocks so its come down to Rancho RS5000s, pro comp explorers, or edelbrock IAS...why those 3 you ask? I can get em nice and cheap I realize that they're all not the greatest of shocks but which of the 3 would you guys recomend?
Thanks

Of the three you listed I would probably go with Rancho, I had them on my 86 ExtraCab. For what kind of driving? I know some would prefer the Edelbrock's, though.

They're going to be on a DD that sees road and highway use...offroad it sees logging roads, trails (roots, ruts, mud, rocks)

OK, so would you say you were happy with how the KYB's felt, or do you want something stiffer? If you want stiffer, then Rancho is the one.

Why don't you get the Bilstein 5100's? Aren't they made for a 3-4" lift? Yeah Yeah, the $$$, but who cares - get what you want.

I have ProComp ES3000s. They're a bit soft, but I just wanted them for the length (better than stocks). This is my DD, so I wanted to smooth ride when I'm on the road.

I don't like my KYBs (gas-adjust) at all they're way to stiff especially offroad it makes the ride really choppy and ruff just bounces over pot holes and bumps rather then absorbing them. I'd like to get the bilsteins if i can find em used cause I just don't have anymore money and want to get this thing out of the garage and back on the road

I love my IAS! One question though - you sure you can still get them? I went through hell trying to get mine a few months ago. I was told Edelbrock quit making them for the Toyota's

I have the es3000s also, and the same steering stabilizer. I love them. The ride is plush, but it handles much better than with the stockers. Feels more controlled, and the steering feels MUCH tighter. Feels like it hugs the road more with the PCs.

If you think the KYB's are too stiff then stay away from Rancho or Bilstein. Sounds like the ProComp ES3000 would work for you based on what the others have said.

I did'nt say the "gas-adjust"... I said the KYB MonoMax @ www.kyb.com.

The "gas-adjust" are great for performance type suspensions on cars, but a little too stiff for offroad use and that's why they've got the MonoMax.

i got the procomp es3000's because the ones that they make for their 4" lift kit were the perfect extended and compressed length with the bj spacers. they're nice and soft and i like them that way.

I wasn't going against you..i was just responding to Calg3 asking how I liked mine....I'm going to have to go measure my travel and see which ones will fit.
Kevin-how long are yours?

No prob', Silver_Truck, I just wanted to clarify that I was specifying the MonoMax and not the Gas-Adjust, for your benefit as they are two different species of shock designed for different applications...., later and good luck with your decision.

The Gas-Adjust are designed fir performance street, whereas the MonoMax are designed for performance offroad..., In case you actually wanted to know.
