Shock type and length???

I'm looking at the Rancho 9000s from 4wheelparts. They're Buy 3 get 1 free right now and theres a shop right down the road from me.

What are your guys thoughts on these? I know some people say they are stiff.

Also I plan on going with the 1.5" ball joint spacers in the front so do I get shocks that are about 1.5" longer?? Reason I ask is because somebody made a comment about how adding the spacers or cranking the torsion bars won't increase the length of shocks needed, so I got a little confused Any help would be great.

Thanks.

I may just use some ProComp ES9000's. I already have them and they are for a 2-3" lift so they should work fine for what I'm planning on doing.

I should have my stuff by the 12th. We should try to get both done that weekend.

I have 5009's and 5167's.

2-3" over stock means very little. Extended and compressed length mean a lot more.

Cranking the torsion bars just resets where in the travel window the arms start, because the bumpstops remain unchanged, the travel remains the same.

Adding BJ spacers changes the travel window.

Shock length is not a direct 1 to 1 correlation with lift height.
