Is this setup worth $800?

Is this setup worth $800?
I found this guy who is selling front and year axles from hub to hub and drum to drum. The rear axle has 5.29's, full spool, and is out of IFS 4runner with the wider axle. The front has 5.29's(duh), Detroit E-Z locker, and 1" spacers on either side to compensate for the larger rear axle. All this for $800.
I have a few questions and want some opinions on this as well as how it would act on a daily driver. Currently I have 31's with decent tread so I will not have bigger tires for a while and when I do I was only planning on 33's. Will the 5.29's drive me crazy with high RPM's with only 31's? I had only planned on going with 4.88's with the 33's because I drive on the Hwy all the time. How much of a difference is their between the 4.88's and 5.29's on the highway? I have the 4.10s and 31's and I love the way the gears are right now. 5th gear pulls up just about any big hill with ease and I can cruise at 75 MPH just under 3K RPM's.
My other concern is the full spool in the rear. This is my primary driver, so I want to hear some experience with those who have a full spool and drive on the road a lot. I have an aussie locker sitting here, so I would probably just swap the spool for the aussie, but that will cost more money and I'm cheap. Let me know from you guys who have experience!
Guy is also selling 35" swampers of some sort mounted on rims complete for $850.

For that much you could probably get some axles and then gear them how you want and lock them however you want for a similar price, assuming you do the work yourself.

im with kyle on this... it seems expensive, but geared and locked already with the labor intensive and expensive work done, its pretty cheap... profesional instal of the geqars and the gears themselves runs about $300 an axle ($150 labor, $150 parts) so thats $600 right there... plus you are gettign the whole axles as well...

It's a good deal for what it is, but I don't think its what you want or need. The spool should handle jus fine on the street, but you will be wearing out rear tires a lot faster than the front. And the 5.29 gears are a little low for 31's, you'll be screaming down the highway only going probably 60-70mph.

When my rear end went south on my old Ranger I replaced it with a custom built ford 8.8 with an Eaton locker for $750. So my guess it that's in the ball park. As for the full spool -not the best for a daily driver and I would run 35's with that ratio.
In the big picture I think you could find a deal the meets your needs or have one built like I did to meet your needs. Is it truly a good deal if you have to spend more on a different locker because you don't like the spool on road. Or if it the rpms make you mental?

I run 35s on my 86 22r with 5.29s. If you ever wanted to turn this truck into something capable on the trail, now is your chance...get those axles and tires and you are set. Just find yourself a set of good springs. Of course its not that easy...but you've found a couple sweet deals to make it easier.
toyota 8" solid front axles are going for 150-200 just for the axle...complete or not. I run a spool in my trail rig and it isnt that bad on the street...the ONLY negative I see is excessive tire wear. If you dont mind chirping around parking lots too...and getting plenty of interesting looks from bystanders...go for it!

That's not a bad deal for a drop in set of axles like that. 35s and 5.29s are a good combination. You could always just pick up a set of Chebbs and move the rear springs to the front and do the AAL thing. Youll move the axle 1.5 inches away from the firewall.
I say go for it. Oh. I have a welded rear and if you rotate the tires and don't mind a little barking now and again, your set.

In my opinion that is a great deal if they are in good shape. That would be my only concern, how hard did he use them? I run a spool in my truck and it will eat your tires, but it is predictable on the road. The 5:29's will be a litte high with 31's, why not step up to 33's or 35's?
Good luck!

Trading is a good idea. Is the front diff from an IFS truck? If you want bigger gears I have 4.56's in mine... Like knucklehead said, buy them and we can trade!

Thanks for all the responses! I think I'm going to let this one pass. Judging by your responses with I should run 35's and going through tires has detered me. Maybe one day when this is a trail only rig I'll go this route. I drive a 100 miles just about everyday so I think this will be a little too aggressive on the street for me right now. For now I guess I'll just stick with the rear aussie as my only mod.

Well at least pass on some contact info for the guy selling this. Just because you're not interested doesn't mean the rest of aren't.
