After repeated attempts to do this myself, step by step from the owner's manual, and my wife doubting my ability, I finally figured out the secret. You have to RELEASE the button after holding it for five seconds. I used the one thousand one, one thousand two method of counting, released the button, and click click. Hope this helps!
