Second Gen. 4runner Manual Steering Conversion?

Anyone done it? The power steering sucks in these things anyway. I could go for gaining a few mpg. What's all needed? Are 31's too big for this?

all you will need is a non power box from a 89-95 pick-up/4runner, 86-88 may work too, but I'm not sure if the boxes were identical, and take off all of your existing power steering stuff, i really doubt that you will see any real improvements in mpg, when you are not turning the fluid just passes through the spool valve on the box with very little resistance, thus the pump is not taking any noticeable HP
