WAHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

Okay, now THAT was fun! I have tons of pictures and the experience was WAY cool.

We had a great turnout! Outside of the trucks (WATRD, JayGuy and myself), there was a Nissan 350Z, 300Z Twin Turbo, 69 Camaro with a 454, and... one of these:

http://www.edmunds.com/new/2004/ferr...or..1.Ferrari*

O.M.G. What a beautiful machine.

I'll have more to say later once I get things sorted out and put together. Short form, I'm making more HP than stock (about 157 at the wheels - with lotso tuning to come), Rob's making a LOT of HP (225 at the wheels), Jay's making stock power plus a hair and the 350Z, 300Z, Camaro and the Ferrari where just putting us to shame. The Camaro was AWESOME to feel!, and when the Ferrari kicked in and opened the cut-outs, OMG!

I'm sure other folks will post results and reflections.

Thanks to all that came out. What a GREAT way to spend a day!

Actually, 215 was that first, lousy run. The next two were 223 and 225 with torque at 252 and 253 respectively

My slips and a few of my photos are at: http://www.watrd.com/Dyno/ Including a couple of special videos of the Ferrari.

NOTE: For those trying to use the software they gave us on XP, you need to run it in Windows98/Millennium emulation mode for it to run properly.

But I didn't see a one of THEM take on the loading dock RTI ramp during the session, so we only know HALF the story...

Wow, looks like you guys had a blast. Now I am concerned about my AFR since my mods are somewhat similar to Mark's. I wonder I am running lean too?

I would have, but my son's 13th birthday is tomorrow and tonite he has friends over, so today was a no-go for me. Oh well, maybe next time.

I'll have to look into doing something like that down here. There's a shop in Gresham (or is it Troutdale?) that will do the group thing...

Any Portlander's interested?

It was cool having the sports cars there to watch. Those things were amazing, although as Rob said their ramp performance wasn't to good.
Definitely a great way to spend a day.

Hi All,

Did any of you guys run a naturally aspirated version? Maybe with Deckplate, ISR, SMT-6, headers and cat-back?

Love you Rob. and no sweat on playing with the plates!

Hi Rich, yes, I run basically that setup, plus headers and a free-flow exhaust.

I've been posting a lot over on an ignition booster thread about my experience, but in short... (note: this is a copy from the other thread. "PB" refers to the "Plasma Booster" which is an ignition kicker. See the other thread for details)

My results are generally inconclusive in terms of the SMT and my ignition kicker because of generally not being prepared.

I set out to do 4 runs...
  1. Deckplate in, SMT off, PB off
  2. Deckplate out, SMT off, PB off
  3. Deckplate out, SMT on, PB off
  4. Deckplate out, SMT on, PB on
The tech shut me down on #3 before I got wound out because I was running at an AFR of 15.6 - VERY lean, but I had no indication of that on my side (watching the O2 sensor numbers). This doesn't worry me 'cause it's just a tuning issue with the SMT (and maybe replacing an O2 sensor).

I actually had my laptop with me to do some tuning, but I now find out that the battery doesn't hold a charge worth a darn and I didn't have the AC adapter with me. Bad planning.

My plan at the moment is to spend some time getting my AFR back to where it should be, then reintroducing the PB and retuning with it in. This is one thing that I _didn't_ do this past week - I never tried to tune for the PB.

I also made loose plans with the tech for me to come back for a full tuning session, which I may do but not for a while. To make that happen would be a $145 base charge plus $75/hour. Ouch.

On the good side! - the deckplate mod is worth 6hp across the board and it smoothed out the torque curve very nicely.

I'll be posting up graphs and pics once I get things together.

Mark,

Thanks for posting those pics, they look great. I had a wonderful time, and might have to invest in some more goodies for the truck. My best numbers were 209.86 torque and 168.93 hp on my second run. I'm trying to get the graphs up on the web now, but of course comcast is fighting it.

This weekend was just what I needed to get the 5-30w flowing through my veins again, and I'll be doing some tweaking to both the truck and the car in the future. Now I just need to find that bag of cash lying in the street with my name on it.

It was great meeting all of you who showed, and sitting in the Ferrari was quite a thrill. Just wish it has actually been moving, instead of just spinning the wheels.

<added> I've uploaded the dyno charts from my second run, the two DynoJet charts on the right.
