Seat Replacements

Ok I have a FIRST generation Runner. I want to replace my tired ole worn out seats. Do I install seats from another type truck, etc? Or should I have a good shop reupholster the seats. I am looking for very comfortable seats, will be taking this truck on long trips. Some of my trips each year entail 2000-2500 miles. Typically I will do at least 3 of these a year. Advice.

I love my seats in my limited edition '95. I will be getting them recovered by a pro shop. I would look for those in a junk yard and have them recovered.

i hope you find a good solutions, because want to put new seats in my 1st gen too. i have heard rumors that old ('80s) volvo seats will bolt right in to a 1st gen 4runner. i hope that is true because i love old volvo seats. they are incredibly comfortable. i just haven't had a chance to pick up any seats to check out and see if the rumor is true.

another place to check out would be http://www.corbeau.com/. i heard that they make seats that will fit in a 1st gen. don't know how good they are or not.

Mike D,

That site is very interesting. The seats actually look comfortable too. Anybody in TN bought their products? What about anybody installing the Volvo Seat in a first generation?
