Thanks to you guys on this forum I was able to disable the chime for the door minder, but the seat belt minder still bothered me. (I wear it instinctively, I don't need a reminder)
I found how to prevent that annoying bell from chiming every time I start my 3rd gen 4runner. Their are two wires going to the seat belt recepticle. Remove the electrical tape holding them in place and cut the two wires. Thats all you have to do!

 

i think there may be a plug under the seat you could have disconnected. ....it may have kept you from cutting the wires and you could have reconnected it if needed.

i may be wrong, but that was the case on my truck anyway.

 

spacewrangler is right: there is a harness below the seat near the front. unplug it and no seat belt reminder

 

Hey guys, how about on the 2010 taco?? It chimes 58 times and drives me crazy as I drive about a block on a dirt drive between homes on private property. Thanks in advance.
