Seat belt

So get this I bring in my 02 Tacoma to get certified, my usuall shop is too buzy so I take it(against my better judgement) to a Goodyear shop, im sitting there watching this STOOGE who is taking forever pull out a caliper to measure my front rotors, at this point I know im screwed cause anyshop that does that is just looking for stuff to fail, anyways after about an hour and a half he comes to get me and tell that my rear axle seal is leaking and that the lugs on my front rims are only holding on to about 4 threads each lug and I should put on different rims in order to pass. So I say ok fair enough and then he hits me with Oh and by the way your driver side seat belt is frayed and I cant let that go either. At this point I am cursing my BAD decision to take it to here in the first place. IS that not splitting hairs or what!!!
I went and picked up the seal put it in (not after breaking the breakline that I have to wait for cause they dont have it in stock) pulled the seat belt out(what a pain that was) and cut what little was freyed and took a lighter and singed it, now Im wondering if that would be OK, any thoughts on this. There is probably more that im forgetting but im so mad right now I cant think straight.
