Scion T1806 in 00' Limited

My oo' Limited came with the dreaded 6807 OE HU. I found a used Scion/Pioneer T1806 unit on scionlife and am thinking that if its as plug and play as people say it is then i might consider installing it myself.

I found the T4R thread outlining the install of a T1807 in a 99' limited here:http://www.toyota-4runner.org/audio-...pic-heavy.html

The install in this thread seems very straight forward and pretty easy. The one thing id like to do different is enlarge the openning instead of making cut outs for the buttons. My question is has anyone enlarged the radio openning so that the dash board clips are still functioning? If you have any info about what and how much you trimmed and maybe even measrements or pics that would be cool. Thanks..

I did. Last night. Worked great. This dude's thread on T4R is pretty thorough. Wish I'd seen it sooner, but you really don't need most of it unless you're a massive geek like me.

Send me your email and I'll shoot you a pic or two.

Not totally sure but I had a stock Scion radio out of an Scion xB that is a Pioneer but I had to cut down the face plate some to fit my stock 4runner radio bezel. I had replaced my SR5 bezel with one from a Limited and I didn't want to hack up the bezel as I intended to upgrade to an even better stereo in the future so I modified the radio itself and it worked great. I upgraded to another Pioneer but to a full double din DVD player stereo I believe it was the P6800, but I still have the Scion radio and I did take some pics of the mod to the faceplate. If you want to see what I did, I could try to find the pics and ping them to you as well.
