I have a 92 4x4 truck. And I've noticed rusting on the bottom of the doors and at the bottom of the tailgate and the usual factory chrome bumper. Has anyone found a way to stop the rust, or to modify these areas to help prevent rust, or maybe some paint that eats rust and permentaly stops it from coming back? Thanks in advance.

Moving to Phoenix might help but not much else will give you a permanent fix. The best that you can do is to keep at it Clean it, paint it etc. When it gets holes, cut out the bad and weld in new metal. It takes effort to keep an older vehicle looking new but it can be done.
