RS3000 Problem
I followed Bob_98SR5 instructions on reprogramming. I press the green button on the brain and did not get the red security light (in the center console) to come on. There are wires attached. I don't have any wiring diagrams, and would like to avoid spending a day taking my interior apart again. Any ideas?
Also, I have two toggle switches installed by the driver's left foot. I doubt it came from Toyota like that. Anyone seen this before?
Thanks, y'all!

Wraun,
Those toggle switches activate your 50 hp Type R turbo and intercooler. You didn't know that?
Seriously, i have no idea what those toggle switches are for but it sounds like your typical alarm override. I never heard of anyone going through the trouble of doing that to the stock Toyota's RS3000 alarm but there's a first for everything.
If your red security light is not coming on, why not flip one of those switches in the other direction and going through the reprogramming procedure? Keep doing that until the programming actually works.
If not, taking apart the lower panel is not that difficult. 4 10mm bolts and you're done.

Back to the thread at hand, I thought they might be overrides too. But I tried all of the combinations. Looks like I'll need to break out my multimeter. I wish I knew who had Penelope (my 97 Ltd) before me. That would be an interesting lunch. The CafFax says it was a lease. Long black hair in the head rest: female primary dirver. From the CDs in the broken player she spoke Spanish. The seseame seeds tell me she loved BigMacs. There was a young dog that rode a lot. And got scared now and then too.
