I have a 01 Prerunner with the TRD package when I use the diff lock it works fine but when I push the diff lock button to disengage it does not do it right away .I drive about 100 yrds and then I hear it click off . Is this normal?

 

Normal, but it will unlock quicker if you turn while driving forward or backing up.

 

Yes. Just do a little "S", turn the wheel to the left a bit and then to the right a bit. That'll help release the tension on the locking collar so it can slip out.
