With this type of super charger would you want the MAF sensor before or after the S/C?

When you get a hold of DOA ask about a thicker head gasket. If forced induction is what the future holds for your 3VZE the thicker head gasket would lower compression making the motor a little more "boost friendly".

After...otherwise the computer can't make adjustments for the increased volume of air that it will be seeing.

cool, I was also thinking with my setup I could have a HOOD mounted intercooler. I'd need to do some serious fabbing, but it wouldn't be too hard.

I got a hold of Magneson a few years back as well and if I remeber correctly that Mark Thomsen guy that e-mailed Churnd back was the gent I talked to... I wonder if Rotorex is there way to dip into the centrifugal market as well...

Hmmm... I was thinking the easiest route would be to ditch the A/C compressor and use the bracketry to mount the S/C. Switch the airbox and the battery places and use a front mount intercooler that has an in/out on each end. This way your piping would be super short and the I/C would benefit more being mounted vertically on the front of the truck instead of layed back where it won't recieve as much air flow. Also, hot air will rise in the engine bay and might lead to heat soak at lower speeds with the I/C on top of the engine. Just my $0.02

Thanks for the article. I read something that was basically saying the opposite a while back and took it as gospel. Of course, your article WAS from Sport Compact Car - Home of the 4 foot wing...

For the money, I'd yank the 3.0 first.

Ok, I see what you're saying. That'd be even nicer than my idea, plus a lot eaiser. What type of fuel mod would be necesary?

Sure we're talking about the same mag? I've been getting it since '98 and the've done nothing but slam the big wings (and other ricer type tendancies). Sure you weren't reading Super Street or Import Tuner by mistake?

Haven't really checked or done any research, but the best way would probably be larger volume fuel pump and larger injectors with somthing besides the stock ECU calling the shots.

You'd be looking at something similar to the mods the 3rd gen guys need to do to get theirs running well with a supecharger.

Having a sc under the hood of my runner would be awesome... I am sick of the low HP...

I don't think that MPG would suffer that much... I could not immgane losing much as from many other kits that put about 5psi to 7psi they are only lossing about .5mpg at the most

Have there been any replies from Boostec or DOA? or any new news for the sp30? I found this a real interesting thread and if it sounds feasible, I would definitly be interested in getting a set-up for my 3.slow if the price was right.

I couldn't send the email to Boostec for some reason. You can try if you'd like. It's Boostec@msn.com. While it's something I really want, I need it to already be in kit form with everything needed to get it up and running. I don't have the time or the money to do all the research right now. I was hoping that one of you guys who did have the time or money would figure it out and by the time I got around to it, I'd be able to ask questions from those who already had done it.
