Roof Racks DIY

I can across this site when I was looking for a roof rack for my 91 4runner.
http://www.fitnesshall.com/safarirack.htm. I think I will go down to my local fence suppy company and see what it will cost me to put one together.

Thats a great idea,

If you have a hacksaw and a tape measure you should be able to do this yourself.
Any Home Depot, Lowes type store will have all the items you need.

I think I will try it once I'm ready for that stage!!! GREAT TIP

I just called our local fence company and for 1 3/8 gate corners 8 x 2.25 is 18.00, T-Clamps 36x 1.20 is 43.20, tubing 21', 3x 15.75 is 47.25. Less bolts and nuts it looks like around 108.45 less tax, I figured it on a 48"x60"x7". I don't know about the weight, should be around 35 lbs?

That sounds a bit high, try a Home Improvement store

I've been thinking about this all day. Now I will have to draw up some plans/designs.

Looks like I have something to do at work tomorrow.....
