Hey now. I'm currently building a basket rack for my wife's '95 Runner to fit on the existing Yakima racks. Any suggestions on how to mount my 1/2"x1.5" rectangular tubing to the round rack bars currently on the truck. I was thinking about some small u-bolts. Also, I'll post some pictures of my basket rack I made for my Taco as well as this one when finished (with dimensions and materials used) if anyone would be interested in buying one. Yes, I think you can use Yakimas attachments like the ones that hold my Yakima Load Warrior on.
I believe they will work with square tubing also.

I do not have really detailed pics on the clamps, but I think they would work with square tubing too.
