Road Rage(pics)

You did the right thing by walking away from the incident. Not worth the hospital bills, yours or theirs. If you did something to piss them off, perhaps you learned something as well.
Consider this...
I'm sure you recognize the type of car, make, model, mods done, (you claim they were "ricers"). You know what area it occurred in. You'll probably bump into the car again at some point.
Did you kjnow that a screwdriver slash to both rear quarter panels and pillars above the front windows will do more damage than to any doors or hood that they can paint separately? The roof needs to be painted and blended to all other panels. In any case, insurance will handle it as vandalization without bumping up their premium, (actually depends), so in the end is it really worth the time and the risk getting shot/hospitalized?
I think you did the right thing. Leave it be.

Well, it appears as though Mattbaby24 isn't not guilty either. I suggest against revenge and vigilantism. Everyone who is simply suggesting to SEEK REVENGE!!!! isn't thinking. What exactly did you do in order to piss them off so much?
I understand you being scared and wanting to get out of there when they were blocking your path on a one way street. Just because someone cuts me off or veers across the lane in front of me doesn't give me the right to go and attempt physical harm upon them. They were very wrong to attack you, yes.
Learn your lesson from this. Be calm next time. If you're angry, don't start to drive, and if you become enraged while driving, please pull over and calm the **** down. Ricers are trash, largely, but...the person you cut off when you're angry or pass abruptly and scare could be my mother doing a straight 50 on the freeway because she's afraid to go any faster.
On the other hand, whoever you piss off could be very dangerous...a couple of months back in NJ, they found a car that was run off the side of the road, and in it a teen who was shot in the head. They assume he pissed someone off, so they went ballistic and killed him. The cheapest $100 POS piece in the hand of the most pathetic ricer can take your life.

I guess it makes me feel better that I say that I would seek revenge, but it's really not worth it.Things will just get too nasty, if you commit any furthur action, who knows, maybe in 2 weeks a whole gang will show up at your front door.

QSVeilside thanks for your comments, made me feel like i do did the right thing.

out a window, everyone at my work said i was lucky they didnt.
nick-m, i know what you mean about violent people, i heard a story of a man who shoot another man in the chest with a crossbow over road rage, or that guy who threw the girls dog in the freeway.
that spot on the tailgate will rust if you don't fix it. I've seen hit's just like that.

remember, revenge is a dish best served cold. But only if you can find a way to do it and not get caught. The best thing to do is let it go. What comes around goes around. But be prepared for the event. I keep dead d-cell batteries in my seat back. they work good. Pennies in the ash tray work good too. They cause a lot of noise but leave no evidence of damage. Like previous posts said, you never know who's packing.

One time at about 5:00am we got flagged down on a road that was pretty much deserted at that time so we stopped to see what they wanted. There were 4 of us in my friends integra and she was worried but the others 3 were guys. When we stopped a lady(obviously drunk) came up to the windown and claimed to be an undercover cop and told us we'd have to hand over all of our booze, we said we didn't have any and she told us to pop the trunk. So we told her to go away because she was a drunk and we had no alcohol on us. She kept claiming to be a cop and told us she'd have to confiscate our money because she thought it was drug money or something... she went on for a long time saying we were under arrest if we didn't go halfs with her on more alcohol and we decided to drive away because it wasn't funny after a while. Well, about 2 minutes of driving and all the sudden we got rammed from behind, we pulled over and my friend got out of the car with a bat but we told him to get back in because the guys in the other car were getting out too and they looked big so he jumped in and we sped off. They chased us as we were on the phone with the police who were leading us to a bridge where they'd spike the bad guys and save us, we got rammed a few more times and we were going extremely fast through red lights and down side streets in order to not get hit. We got to the bridge and there were about 15 cop cars ready when a cop runs out and spikes our car... smooth move were not the bad guys. the drunks tried to turn around on the bridge hit the side and got arrested, with a gun on them. The moral of the story is anyone can carry a gun so don't fight if you don't have to, my friend probably would've been killed if he didn't get back in the car and they all got arrested anyways. The best part of it was when the lady that claimed to be a cop was a substitute teacher and got fired.

I got a few road rage stories. It happens daily here. One day I was a turn light that has a right arrow when the other side is going left so I turn right, a kid in a ranger pulls an illegal u-turn, almost hits me then has the audacity to chase me give me many dirty gestures and then tried to follow me. ( I was going to a busy public place so....). Anyway I reach under the back of my seat as I have my phone to my ear. There isn't anything there but the kid then backs right off and pulls away. I guess he realized a 32 year old man might not be worth talking smack too. Then a few days ago my favorite incidient. I was taking my wife to class and there was a cop that had stopped someone(they do have right away laws and space for pulled vehicles). Well he was about to turn into traffic causing me to slam on my brakes to avoid hitting him. The guy behind us blares his horn then gives my wife the bird a few times being verbally abusive. I ended up trying to get him to follow us to the campus police unit but he realized where I was headed. Oh I also carry a disposable camera with me and take pictures now of these people. Better to have some evidence if I do get shot. Atleast they got a face car and plate #.

Too bad it's illegal to have exposed gun racks in Canada, there would be a lot less road rage if you had a 12ga. hangin in the rear window, quite the deterent.
Thats probably why theres no stories from Texas yet!

In all I did use my hitch to ruin the guys car who deliberately and carelessly hit my door and ran off. I also used my old truck to push someone elses car out of a space b/c the jerk parked assbackwards...no damage was done but thier car was sitting in the middle of the aisle in the lot lol.
BTW, parking across two spaces on the parking lot is a sign of an overinflated a$$ ego. Especially, having the nerve to go and "correct" other people's parking jobs with the bumper of their old trucks.
By no means I'm protecting those who hit other people's cars on the parking lots - I had to personally make an idiot kiss his steering wheels hard when he decided to hit my truck with his door while I was actually sitting inside of my truck.
The point is - do not behave like the people who piss you off.

500 or 1000 to fix... leave it be. My runner got a ding in the side and i wanted to claim it on my insurance and my wife pitched a fit. (She is also my agent) You insurance will more than likely go up due to a claim. Keep that in mind

I think it shows some level of maturity that you didn't do much else. Really isn't worth putting you rlife at risk fighting over road rage that you did or didn't do.
I think a lot of people don't realize that we don't live in a Chuck Norris movie. Vengance is justified when they take your kids life, not dent your 4runner.
What a beautiful world we live in. Sorry you had to go through that.

Yeah insurance is a joke. You pay them all this money for basically nothing most of the time. Everything is fine until you want to make a claim using the money you have paid them. Oh we're going to have to raise your rates, or maybe even drop your ass. Rediculous.
