Replacing PCV Valve
Is it not trus that if the valve has suction its still working properly. Also, is there a set interval to change this thing at or just when it fails? thanks.

Yeah, it tends to vary depending on the vehicle and/or the source (Haynes vs Chilton vs. owners manual etc.)
I remember that rule of thumb too, that if you can still hear it rattle when you shake it, its still good, or if it is still pulling vac then its still good.
I don't believe they are very expensive, usually they are just a few bucks so I've always replaced them at 30K intervals.

Ive heard everything from detonation can result to a CE light. I dont think anything detrimental really, but I bought one last night for my taco and my car and the total cost was $7.15

3.0 pcv replacement
I would love to change mine out, and I have the part but on a 3.0 it looks like it may not be worth the hassle! I have NO idea how to get mine out and once I get it out how to put the new one back in, what were they thinking when they stuck it under the damn intake not on the side that is accessable, WHY??

It's really that simple.
Looking in from the front, the PCV valve will be on the left top side of the motor - you'll find a black shaped-rubber hose coming out of the intake manifold about 3/8" in diameter, going down to a white 'L'-shaped thingy plugged into the top of the motor. Just pull the hose off the old one (loosen the clip first) and pull out the old valve. Push the new valve in, put hose back on (and re-tighten clip), and you're done.

Tell you what I will be home in a bit here (where my camera is, otherwise I'd just do it now from work), I'll post up a pic or two.
Seriously, this is about on par with playing a CD, on the scale of things that are easy.

where do I buy the PCV valve from, I dont wanna buy the wrong size or somthing like that. All you gotta do is pull the damn thing out, and push the new one in. Sounds easy.....Hope I dont screw it up. I do all sorts of sound installs, and that gets complicated. When ever someone says its easy, I end up making a whole big production out of it.
