Replacing My Starter...HELP!!!

I have a 97' 4 runner that needs a new starter. But how do I get the old one out? All nuts and wires are removed but I can't get the blasted thing out. Whats the secret passage way? I'm stuck!!! Can anyone help?

I was having the same problem a couple of weeks ago. I was able to get it out between the exhaust and steering lines. It was tight, but I was able to squeeze it in and out without damaging anything. Good Luck

read the writeup in the tech section here. that's the way I did mine, and it worked fine. are you sure it's the whole starter and not just the contacts? It doesnt take much to open it up and check it out once you pull the starter, and parts to rebuild it were under $20. Everything you need is in the writeup.
here- Just in case you're lazy

Did you say enough curse words??? I think at about the 16th or 17th one the starter will squeese through into the wheel well.
