relay clicks when I let off the gas

I have an 85 runner, 22re and when I rev it or am driving and let off the gas a relay clicks under the dash, sounds like the passenger side. It just starting happening tonight, so I haven't checked exactly where it is coming from, but I didn't know if anyone has had this problem before. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

I had the same relay "click" happen when my 22re lost a piston ring. It would only click when coasting or idle. It is behind the passenger kick panel.

Never did find out what it was because I knew the motor needed major work, and after rebuilding and cleaning everything it has not come back.

I would check all vacum hoses under the hood and also all the electrical plugs to make sure there tight. Have you tried to pull any codes?

I ran the codes, but it blinks only once, saying it is ok, I think I am gonna have to take it apart and find exactly where it is coming from, Just got back from wheelin today, still clicks, but didn't affect the performance. Thanks

I believe its your AC, mine does the same, only when the AC is on. The compressor doesnt kick in until the engine reaches a certain rpm.

Well after I blew my head gasket last week I decided it was time to rebuild it because it is pretty tired. my #1 piston had about 1/4 of the compression ring just like SoCal4Running said had happened to him. Thanks for the help.
