Rear shock install

ok guys just got a quick question, i dont really have much time to search, so here goes the question...

when installing rear shocks, do i want to jack up my truck by the axle? or do i want the axle to hang all the way down and just jack up the back of my truck by the frame?

Let the axle hang. It will be easier to get the shocks off and on. You may have to manipulate the axle up and down to get the new shocks on.

In other words, support the rig by the frame with Jackstands, then use the jack to manipulate the axle as needed.

What Christian said.

I used jack stands on the frame, then put the jack under the axle. I jacked up the axle a little bit and took out the bottom bolts, then let the axle down.

What he said. I jacked the truck up and Put a Jack stand on the frame. Than use a jack to lift or lower the axel
